Do not let the process of applying for scholarships and grants overwhelm you or prevent you from moving forward. Here’s everything you need to know:

1. Make sure you’re eligible. Do not waste your or the scholarship giver’s time. When searching for scholarships, be sure you meet the eligibility requirements. Prioritize appropriate scholarships based on their due dates.

2. Investigate former scholarship recipients. Biographies of former recipients can help you understand the type of person a scholarship committee is searching for.

3. Create a scholarship checklist. Stay on track by arranging submission dates, instructions, and tasks for each scholarship you’re interested in, such as preparing essays or obtaining letters of recommendation.
