1. The Wellesley College
As part of the Scholars Program, Wellesley will offer comprehensive support to nine (9) African women, including scholarships, mentorship, counseling, and internship opportunities for undergraduate study.
Scholars at Wellesley will develop experiences, values, and competences that are essential for success in the global economy and allow them to contribute back to their communities and home nations.
Students will arrive in groups of three each year.

2. The Stanford University
Stanford University USA will provide extensive support to 20 bright but economically challenged African students seeking scholarships in the United States over the next eight years.
Every year, the Scholars Program will fund five (5) undergraduate students from Sub-Saharan Africa.
Level of study: undergraduate degree

3. The Arizona State University
In 2012, Arizona State University welcomed 10 undergraduate students from seven African countries as the inaugural class of MasterCard Foundation Scholars to begin their studies there.
As part of this program, ASU will receive $27.5 million over the next seven years to provide high-quality education to academically outstanding but financially disadvantaged African students who want to give back to their communities and nations. The program will eventually fund 120 scholars at ASU.

4. Berkeley University in California
The University of California, Berkeley, will give comprehensive support to 113 Sub-Saharan African students from 2012 to 2020.
The scholars want to pursue both undergraduate and professional master’s degrees.

5. The Michigan State University (MSU)
Michigan State University will grant full tuition scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students from Sub-Saharan Africa.
The foundation will provide $45 million in funding to the institution to assist 185 scholars over the course of nine years, including 100 four-year undergraduates and 85 master’s degree students.

6. The Duke University
Duke University reflects the intellectual and energetic youth of Sub-Saharan Africa.
Duke University will educate seven (7) classes of five (5) students from Sub-Saharan Africa a total of 35 students over the next ten years to earn scholarships in the United States.

7. Foreign Fulbright Scholar Program
The Fulbright Program provides grants to international students seeking to pursue a Master’s or PhD degree.
Scholarships can also be provided for non-degree postgraduate courses.
The grant includes tuition, textbooks, travel, a living allowance, and health insurance.
Level of Study: Master’s and PhD degrees in a variety of subjects, including multidisciplinary studies, with the exception of medical degree programs and clinical medical research.
Previous application deadlines vary per country: For example, in general, the Nigerian Fulbright Scholar application process opens in February each year, with applications due in May.
8. Joint Japan-World Bank Graduate Scholarship Programme Japan
The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program provides Masters Degree scholarships to postgraduate students from developing nations.
Eligible applicants should propose a master’s degree program in development-related subjects such as economics, health, education, agriculture, environment, natural resource management, or others.

9. Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowships for International Students – USA

The Zawadi Africa Education Fund is a program that provides undergraduate scholarships to academically outstanding girls and women from impoverished families in Africa to pursue higher education in the United States, Uganda, Ghana, South Africa, and Kenya.
Level of study: Undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, and/or information and communication technology.

11. MMMF Scholarships for Women from Developing Countries in the US and Canada
The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund (MMMF) awards grants to women from developing nations to pursue their education and build their leadership skills, with the goal of improving the lives of women and children in developing countries.
The MMMF gives grants worth around $12,000 apiece.
Eligible applicants are women from developing countries who are currently enrolled in authorized universities in the United States or Canada.

12. The AAUW International Fellowship For Women
Women who are not US citizens or permanent residents are eligible for AAUW International Fellowships, which are offered for full-time study or research in the United States.

13. Harambe Fletcher Scholarships for African Students in the USA
The Harambe Fletcher Scholarship is a full-tuition award for young African entrepreneurs who want to pursue a master’s degree at The Fletcher School at Tufts University beginning in September.
Eligible Fields of Study:

- A two-year, highly flexible, interdisciplinary, professional degree in international relations

14. The Aga Khan Foundation’s International Scholarship Programme
Each year, the Aga Khan Foundation awards a limited number of postgraduate scholarships to outstanding students who have no other means of financing their studies and want to prepare for employment.
Scholarships are provided on a 50% grant/ 50% loan basis through a competitive application procedure held once a year in June or July.
The Foundation accepts applications from the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar, and Mozambique.

The Microsoft Research Graduate Women’s Scholarship is a one-year scholarship program for outstanding female graduate students that aims to boost the number of women seeking PhDs.

16. 7UP Harvard Business School Scholarships for Nigerian Students

36. ESTU Academic Merit Scholarship for International Students
The International Students Academic Merit Scholarship is available to incoming international students pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree at East Tennessee State University (ETSU USA).
The scholarship only covers 50% of in-state and out-of-state tuition and maintenance expenses. No additional fees or costs are included.

The Institute of International Studies (IIS) at UC Berkeley intends to give a series of merit scholarships totaling up to $2000 each to assist undergraduate study in any area of international studies.

44. Scholarships for the Global Scholars Program at Clark University
Clark University’s Global Scholars Program is open to high school students who are not permanent residents or citizens of the United States, as well as U.S. citizens/permanent residents who live abroad and will complete their secondary school education outside of the United States.
The award includes a scholarship of at least $15,000 (up to $60,000 for four years if academic standards are met for renewal) and a guaranteed $2,500 taxable stipend for a paid internship or research assistantship taken for academic credit during the summer following the sophomore or junior year.

45. Illinois Wesleyan University offers international student scholarships
Merit-based scholarships are available to qualified overseas students who have superior academic achievement and test scores on the required entrance tests.
These undergraduate scholarships in the United States range from $10,000 to $25,000 per year and are renewable for a maximum of four years. In some cases, further assistance is available through student loans and university employment.
In addition, two full-tuition President’s International Student Scholarships are available.
These scholarships are offered each year to two highly eligible overseas students based on their talents, interests, and academic achievements.

46. Miriam J. Kelley African Scholarship Grant Program at Michigan State University
The Miriam J. Kelley African Scholarship grant is meant to encourage MSU African students (especially women) to study at MSU and contribute to their country’s development.
At least two prizes can be given out each year. The number of awards made and the actual award amounts are determined by the quality of the proposals and the resources available during the fiscal year in which monies are proposed for spending.

47. International Student Mandela Fellowship Program for South African Students at Michigan State University
MSU wants to improve South African colleges and universities by giving tuition support during the first year of graduate education, many of whom will go on to work in professional and government roles when they return.
The objective is to allow departments to provide scholarships in the United States, bringing students to campus temporarily while additional sources of financial support are sought for the duration of the term of study.

49. New York University Wagner Scholarships
These scholarships are available to a limited number of admitted students each application cycle, including all NYU Wagner degree programs and overseas students.
Awards are determined solely by the merit of the application and the contributions the Graduate Admissions Committee believes the applicant can make to the NYU Wagner community.
All international postgraduate student applicants at NYU Wagner are automatically assessed for all merit-based scholarships, as the University considers scholarship applicants from both the United States and other countries.
The awards range from partial to full tuition grants, with the Robert F. Wagner Scholarship offering a $20,000 annual stipend.
50. International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) Tuition Scholarships at Oregon University
Every year, the ICSP program provides 10-20 new competitive scholarships to overseas students. Scholarships cover tuition solely and vary from $9,000 to $27,000 per year.
The ICSP scholarship includes a cultural service component that asks students to deliver information about their home country to children, community organizations, and UO students, faculty, and staff.
ICSP scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic achievement, and the ability to deliver presentations to broad groups of people. ICSP scholarships are renewable.
Applicants can be new or current UO international undergraduate students.
